Adult Day Health Program

The New England Sinai Hospital’s Adult Day Health Program provides a safe structured therapeutic environment which promotes the participant’s highest level of functioning. The design of the program allows adults to remain in their homes and provides caregivers time for work or respite relief.

Specially Trained Staff

The caring staff at Sinai’s Adult Day Health Program includes registered and licensed nurses who supervise the participant’s medical management, activity staff, program assistants and a social worker.

Overview of Services

Our dedicated Adult Day Health staff develop individualized health care plans for each participant based on physician orders, social service, activity and nursing assessments.

The following services are components of the Adult Day Health Program:

  • Skilled nursing for assessment, treatment, and monitoring of each participant’s condition and basic nursing care
  • Supervision and administration of medications
  • Referrals to community-based health social and specialty counseling agencies
  • Two nutritious meals and a snack, daily
  • Social and recreational activities designed to meet the needs of the individual participant
  • Ongoing communication with the participant’s primary care physician
  • Neuropsychological evaluation and rehabilitation services are available in collaboration with New England Sinai Hospital
  • Caregiver education to assist with their role in the participant’s treatment plan
  • Counseling and social services for participants and their families

Location and Hours

Sinai’s Adult Day Health program is located at 143 York Street in Stoughton, Massachusetts.

The program is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Each applicant is evaluated by the program’s registered nurse. To be eligible a participant must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Need day health care services
  • Have a personal physician or primary health care provider in the community
  • Have a place to return to at night, and a family member or caregiver to provide community care as needed


The Sinai Adult Day Health staff will help arrange appropriate transportation for each participant. Options include transportation by:

  • The participant’s family, friend or caregiver
  • Community-based service
  • A contracted transportation service


Funding for Adult Day Health services may be available through local Aging Service Access Points (ASAP), Medicaid, the Veteran’s Administration and some long-term care insurance coverage. Participants may be eligible for the Rotary Community Corp Scholarship program as well. Otherwise, tuition is the responsibility of the participant or his/her family.
