Wound Care Center

The Wound Center at New England Sinai Hospital is a comprehensive outpatient program that combines the latest in wound treatment, education, and support to promote healing. We treat chronic wounds resulting from complications related to diabetes, circulatory problems and/or traumatic injuries.

We treat a large variety of chronic wounds such as:

  • Diabetic ulcers
  • Open surgical wounds
  • Leg and foot ulcers
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Pressure ulcers (bed sores)
  • Other chronic wounds

A Collaborative Approach

The Wound Center staff will coordinate your healing treatment plan with your primary care physician, who will continue to manage your overall medical care. Your Sinai wound care treatment team will keep your physician informed of your progress.

Our team approach enables us to provide you with the best possible health care and ensures that you achieve the best possible outcome. You will be assigned a physician who will follow you during your entire course of treatment. Our physician specialists include podiatry, general surgery, plastic surgery, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Comprehensive Treatment Plan

Individualized wound treatment methods depend on the type and severity of the wound. The plan of care may include:

  • Conventional and advanced wound dressings
  • Wound education and prevention
  • Selective and non-selective wound debridement
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Antibiotic wound therapy
  • Advanced wound modalities
  • Full range of podiatry services
