President's Greeting
Welcome to New England Sinai, a long term acute care hospital and pulmonary center of excellence, serving patients at our main campus in Stoughton and our satellite units at Tufts Medical Center and Caritas Carney Hospital. At Sinai we are committed to exceeding the expectations of our patients and their families. Our goal is for every patient to receive the highest quality of care delivered with compassion, respect and understanding; to provide support and comfort to our families; and to make certain the hospital experience is always the best that it can be.
Patients come to Sinai from hospitals and medical centers in Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts, many directly from the ICU, for the outstanding complex medical, pulmonary and acute rehabilitative care we provide. Most stay for an average of 25-30 days.
Sinai is about people– the patients and families we serve and our outstanding staff who make the Sinai name synonymous with the very best medical care. Our physicians, PAs, nurses, therapists and the entire Sinai team are truly dedicated to the wellbeing and dignity of our patients, and are one of the many reasons patients and families request Sinai when long-term acute care is needed.
Sinai’s pulmonary focus
Sinai was founded in 1927 as a tuberculosis hospital. This original focus is the foundation upon which Sinai’s pulmonary programs and services have grown, propelling us to the forefront in pulmonary care. Today, Sinai’s success rate with hard to wean patients exceeds national benchmarks, and our pulmonary rehabilitation programs are known for the outstanding outcomes our patients achieve. Additionally, under the leadership of Alexander C. White, MD, MS, Chief of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, Sinai is breaking new ground in pulmonary research through the Kalman Research Center A major teaching affiliate of Tufts University School of Medicine, Sinai is an important rotation site for Tufts pulmonary fellows, adding to our reputation as a Center of Pulmonary Excellence.
For more than 82 years, Sinai has been here when our patients and families have needed us. We look forward to being here for many more.
