President's Greeting
Welcome to New England Sinai Hospital, a long term acute care hospital and pulmonary center of excellence, serving inpatients and outpatients at our main campus in Stoughton and our inpatient satellite units at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston and Caritas Carney Hospital in Dorchester. Patients come to Sinai, many directly from the ICU, because they know our care team has the medical expertise to manage their multiple medical conditions and the experience to help them function at the highest level possible. At Sinai, we provide patients and their families with exceptional complex medical, pulmonary and rehabilitative care.
Many long-term acute care hospitals provide good care, but what sets Sinai apart from other organizations is the quality of our care and the dedication of our staff. Sinai is about people--those who get involved, those who need our care, and the outstanding men and women on our staff who serve our patients and our families.
Sinai was founded in 1927 as a tuberculosis hospital. This original focus continues to provide a pulmonary foundation upon which we have built a strong and outcome-oriented pulmonary center. Dedicated to being the most comprehensive and widely recognized Pulmonary Center of Excellence in Massachusetts, we are involved in national research projects under the direction of Alexander C. White, MD, Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at Sinai, and are in the process of planning a named Pulmonary Research Center. Additionally, in the fall of 2006, we strengthened our pulmonary capabilities with the introduction of the Sleep Disorders Program.
Sinai’s rich history of growth, expansion, new services and programs has propelled it to the forefront in long-term, acute care and positioned it as a leader in providing the most advanced pulmonary care. In 2007, we mark our 80th year in operation and I am proud that the Sinai name has become synonymous with the very best medical care, delivered with compassion and kindness. We bring health, hope and comfort to our patients and families, and we regard each and every one as a member of the Sinai family. It is this combination of medical excellence and compassionate care that enables us recognition for quailty care throughout the state of Massachusetts.
For the past 80 years, we’ve been here when you need us. We look forward to being here for many more.
