Speech-Language Program

Communication disorders can appear at any age and stage of life. They may be present at birth, developmental in nature or acquired. Early detection and treatment are key to maximizing a person's communication potential. If a problem is suspected, a full speech-language evaluation is recommended to assess strengths and areas of need, determine diagnosis and formulate an individualized treatment plan.

At Sinai, our certified speech-language pathologists can help individuals achieve improved function, whether limitation is due to delayed/disordered development, neurological events including stroke or head injury, the aging process, surgical procedures or poor vocal habits. Programs are designed to meet the individual needs ,and specific home activities are included to increase independence and help carry over newly learned skills to daily life. Parents, spouses and other family members are counseled in intervention strategies and ways to participate, as well as enhance the therapy process.
