New England Sinai offers a comprehensive benefits package that allows employees to choose plans and programs that suit their needs.
BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF MASSACHUSETTS HEALTH INSURANCE:
The Hospital offers three insurance plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts: HMO Blue NE $500 Deductible Plan, HMO Blue NE Enhanced Value Plan, and HMO Blue NE Classic Plan. Premium costs are shared between the Hospital and employee depending on the choice of coverage and full-time/part-time status. For this benefit only, full-time is considered a weekly work schedule of 30 hours or more and part-time is 20-29 hours per week. Employee premiums are paid with pre-tax dollars from your weekly earnings.
DENTAL INSURANCE:
The Hospital offers dental insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental Blue to benefits eligible employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week. Annual coverage limit is up to $1,500 of allowable services after the calendar year deductible is met. Employee premiums are paid with pre-tax dollars from your weekly earnings.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT PROGRAM:
Benefit eligible employees may set aside a portion of pre-tax weekly earnings to help pay for certain health and/or dependent care expenses based on a pre-set annual maximum.
403(b) RETIREMENT PLAN:
Sinai offers a Defined Contribution Plan to help employees save for retirement using pre-tax dollars from their weekly earnings. Employees receive an employer matching contribution, quarterly statements, portability and investment choices.
LIFE INSURANCE:
The Hospital provides basic group term life insurance at twice the employee's annual base earnings and is provided at no cost to benefit eligible employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week.
LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE:
The Hospital provides basic group term life insurance at twice the employee's annual base earnings and is provided at no cost to benefit eligible employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week
OPTIONAL BENEFITS:
Voluntary additional insurance coverage is available to benefit eligible employees for disability, accident, hospitalization coverage, specified-disease coverage and supplemental life.
EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:
The Hospital provides confidential advisory and referral services through professionals external to the organization to assist all employees with personal and family matters.
EDUCATION ASSISTANCE REIMBURSEMENT:
Full-time benefit eligible employees may receive reimbursement up to $1,200 per year and part-time benefit eligible employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week up to $900 per year for eligible books, fees and tuition costs associated with work-related courses taken at accredited educational institutions and for courses which prepare employees for other positions within the hospital.
HOLIDAYS:
Seven scheduled holidays per year for full-time and part-time benefit eligible employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. PAID TIME OFF (PTO):
Full-time and part-time benefit eligible employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week are entitled to paid time off accruals based on scheduled weekly hours, length of service and position.
EXTENDED SICK LEAVE (ESL):
In addition to PTO, full-time and part-time benefit eligible employees scheduled to work 24 hours or more per week are entitled to accrue extended sick time each year for their own illness or injury. Unused time may be carried over each year up to a maximum of 1000 hours.
DIFFERENTIALS:
The following differentials are paid as a percentage of base salary for hours worked in the categories shown. Site differentials are paid for all hours worked for employees whose regular work schedule is based at a satellite.

Nights - 18% Nights - 18%
Evenings - 15% Evenings - 15%
