    Answer

It varies for each individual patient; however the average length of a hospital stay at Sinai is 25-30 days.

  • How many hours per day will I work with therapy?

    Answer

At Sinai each patient is treated with his or her specific needs in mind according to an individually designed plan of care. Sinai's extensive therapy programs may include Physical Therapy Rehabilitation, Occupational Therapy Rehabilitation, Speech-Language Therapy, and Respiratory Therapy.  Some of Sinai's therapy treatment plans will take place at the bedside while other therapy will be in the gym depending on the area of focus. Weekend therapies are determined by the therapist.

  • How many patients in each room?

    Answer

    Most rooms are semi-private.

  • Will I have TV, telephone and wireless internet service?

    Answer

Free wireless internet is available at all three locations. Bedside TV and telephone is available in all rooms.  Patients can listen to music on TVs at the Stoughton location.  There is no charge for TV, cable service, or telephone calls within local area codes at the Stoughton and Dorchester locations.  Television and telephone service can be arranged for a small fee per day at the Boston location.  Please ask your nurse if you are interested in either service.

  • What are the visiting hours?

    Answer

12 noon to 8:30 P.M. daily.  An adjustment to the hospital visiting hours can be arranged at the nurse manager's discretion.  During warm weather our Stoughton campus patio area is furnished with umbrella tables and chairs for patients and families to use, with physician approval.

  • Will my doctor follow me there?

    Answer

If your doctor is on the staff at Sinai he or she may elect to follow you.  The majority of our patients are assigned an attending physician for their stay.  Upon discharge from the hospital a full report is sent to the primary care provider and/or the referring physician to ensure your secure medical records are complete.

  • Will my insurance cover all my services?

    Answer

While there may be charges not covered by your insurance, it is best to check your individual policy for specific coverage benefits.  Sinai's admissions department will secure insurance pre-certification and check hospital benefits prior to your admission.  At the time of admission all patients are given a detailed insurance write-up explaining how your Sinai stay will be paid.

  • How is the food? Can my family bring food?

    Answer

At Sinai we take pride in the presentation of nourishing and appetizing meals prepared by our chef.   Special nutritional and dietary needs can be arranged for people following Kosher or other dietary laws.  Your visitors are asked to check with the nurse or dietitian before bringing any food to you.
