Rehabilitation

InPatient_test

New England Sinai Hospital's rehabilitation services offer customized patient and family-focused rehab treatment and education that emphasize each patient's unique strengths, abilities and preferences.  The goal is to maximize  functional independence, providing patients with the essential skills needed to return to a community lifestyle.

As hospital discharge time approaches, Sinai's Simulated Living Center provides a therapeutic and safe environment to test skills learned in rehabilitation therapy, which will be needed in safely navigating a community setting.

The Sinai rehabilitation process is designed to improve the quality of life for patients recovering from a variety of medical conditions which may include:

  • Stroke
  • Progressive neurological disease
  • Amputation and diabetes
  • COPD
  • Congestive heart failure

The Treatment Team

The health care team focuses on designing a goal-oriented plan of care that promotes independence, the highest level of health and function, as well as freedom from pain. To accomplish this, our clinicians focus on setting realistic goals. Our highly qualified team members, from the following disciplines, work together throughout our patient's stay:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech-Language Therapy
  • Neuropsychology
  • Respiratory Therapy
  • PM&R (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation)
  • Nursing
