Volunteers

Each year over 200 men and women volunteer by donating more than 34,000 hours annually supporting New England Sinai Hospital. These conscientious individuals contribute to the daily hospital operations as clerical assistants, hospital and cafeteria personnel, mail room clerks, front desk receptionists and gift cart sales people. Some of the dedicated and friendly volunteers interact with patients as Patient Ambassadors. Others support and build momentum within Sinai's patient and family activity programs.  Sinai's volunteers continue to add an important and caring dimension to the Sinai community.

Who Are the Sinai Volunteers?

Volunteers at Sinai include reliable high school and college students, working men and women as well as retirees. Each volunteer brings something unique to Sinai. In return, Sinai teaches them new skills, helps them to explore healthcare and related professions and gives them a sense of satisfaction.

Volunteer Criteria

Must be 13 years of age or older and commit to a minimum of 3 hours a week.

The Sinai Volunteer Process

Meet with the Director of Volunteer and Auxiliary Services for a personal interview to share your interest and learn more about the program. Once you find a position that corresponds with your interests, experience, and fits your time schedule, you'll attend a Volunteer Placement orientation before starting your "new job."

To become a Sinai volunteer, call Margi Sandman, Director of Volunteer and Auxiliary Services at (781) 297-1333, e-mail msandman@nesinai.org, or complete our online form.
