SINAI'S ALEXANDER C. WHITE, MD AND NICHOLAS S. HILL, MD
NAMED AMONG BOSTON'S BEST DOCTORS FOR 2007-2008

STOUGHTON, MA — Alexander C. White, MD, Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at New England Sinai Hospital and Nicholas S. Hill, MD, Director of Sinai’s Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, were among the pulmonary and critical care physicians named to the 2007-2008 Best Doctors in Boston, published in the November issue of Boston Magazine. Dr. Hill is also the Chief of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Division at Tufts-New England Medical Center. The list is composed of an index of 76 medical specialties and subspecialties in the Boston area. Both Dr. White and Dr. Hill have been among the top pulmonary/critical care physicians in prior year listings. Dr. Nicholas S. Hill has been elected by his peers for inclusion in Best Doctors in the last five consecutive reviews (1998 to 2008) and Dr. Alexander White has been elected by his peers for inclusion in the last two consecutive reviews (2005-2008).

The list of top-ranked doctors was created by the Boston-based company Best Doctors (bestdoctors.com), founded in 1989 by Harvard Medical School-affiliated physicians. Every two years, Best Doctors polls members of the medical profession, asking, “If you or a loved one needed a doctor in your specialty, who would you choose?”

Alexander C. White, MD is Chief of Pulmonary Medicine at New England Sinai Hospital and Medical Director of the Sleep Disorders Program at Sinai Dr. White is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland. He completed an internship at Dr. Steeven’s Hospital, Dublin; an internal medicine residency program at Federated Dublin Voluntary Hospitals; and served as a clinical fellow and a research fellow at New England Medical Center, Pulmonary Division. Board certified in internal, critical care, pulmonary and sleep medicine, Dr. White has been the recipient of a Parker B. Francis Fellowship Award, an American Lung Association Research Grant, and is completing an NIH K23 Research Career Award studying the pulmonary complications of Hematopoiteic Stem Cell Transplantation. As part of this award, he is pursuing a MS Degree in Clinical Research at Tufts University, Sackler School of Biomedical Sciences.

Nicholas S. Hill, MD is Director of Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation at New England Sinai Hospital. Dr. Hill earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, completed an internship in medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, Tufts-New England Medical Center and an internal medicine residency program at Boston Veterans Administration Medical Center. His post-graduate work also includes a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and in pulmonary medicine at a Boston University School of Medicine. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha; and has received the Career Investigator Award, National Institutes of Health; and a Parker B. Francis Foundation Fellowship Award. He is the recipient of numerous awards and has received extensive grant awards for clinical research projects. Before his current appointment at Tufts-NEMC, Dr. Hill served as the Chief of the Pulmonary Division at Miriam Hospital, Providence, RI. He is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
