PRESS RELEASE
Two Weeks to a Healthier You Let Sinai’s Key to Diabetes Management Show You How
STOUGHTON, MA —Are you ready to take permanent, positive control of your diabetes? Then now is the time to enroll in Sinai’s Key to Diabetes Management Program, which begins in June. All you need are two weeks and the desire to live a healthier and happier life. Whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, are newly diagnosed or living with diabetes for years, you’ll come away with management solutions you can live with, proven practical advice and a new perspective. At Sinai, we understand that many programs focus on restrictions, which can be disheartening. Our focus is on helping you feel empowered to manage the disease, while taking your lifestyle and activity level into account. That’s one reason why our Key to Diabetes Self Management Program is so popular.
The Diabetes Educators at Sinai have been helping diabetes patients like you since 1993. Our team approach helps you to develop your own self management program and learn the strategies and skills you need to keep your blood glucose levels controlled. That is the key to getting a new lease on life with diabetes. It can be simpler and easier than you think! Enroll in our four week, four session program beginning June 16th from 6 – 8 pm. Sessions run on Monday and Wednesday on June 16, 18, 23 and 25 at Sinai, located at 150 York Street in Stoughton. The program is taught by a nurse educator and registered dietician and is covered by most insurance plans. To register and for more information, please call 781-297-1385.
The Key to Diabetes Self Management Program also offers a supportive group environment that many say provides the motivation and inspiration they have been seeking in learning to live with their diabetes. In addition to a comprehensive overview of diabetes, how it affects your body and recommendations for exercise and other activities, instructors will explain how you can control blood glucose levels with meal and exercise plans and make healthy choices whether you are eating at home or out with friends.
The Sinai Diabetes Center has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association for Quality Patient Education since 1993 and is designed to promote the health and well-being of patients with diabetes. Patient Education Programs include medical management, health education, exercise and nutritional counseling. The Diabetes Center team makes a careful evaluation of patients’ overall health and history, and tailors an individualized program of medical management, education, nutrition, and exercise counseling. An ongoing program of treatment and support helps patients maintain an appropriate level of glucose control and minimize complications.
