Men's Associates
The Sinai Men's Associates was founded by a group of men interested in providing volunteer and financial support to the hospital and its patients. Members serve as ambassadors to the community, and are involved in a variety of fund raising activities and the sponsorship of patient/family programs. The Men's Associates offers its members a chance to:
- gain reward and satisfaction through participation in monthly Sunday entertainment programs for patients and families
- enjoy the camaraderie of fellow members at special social and education programs
- help make a difference by working on the organization's fund raising programs including the successful annual calendar project and poker tournaments
- participate in the Men's Associates Alzheimer's Scholarship program

Andre Tippett Presented with Lifetime Membership in New England Sinai Men's Associates
At their recent annual dinner at New England Sinai Hospital (Wednesday, June 23, 2010) the Men’s Associates Century Club hosted a special guest, Andre Tippett, legendary linebacker who played 11 seasons with the New England Patriots.Tippett gave a talk about football, integrity, giving back to the community and more.
To honor this giant of a man for all his good works, Men’s Associates President, Thomas ‘Tiny’ O’Connor of Randolph, presented Tippett with a lifetime membership in the Sinai Men’s Associates.

Sinai Men’s Associates Century Club Helps Alzheimer’s Center Garden project.
At their recent annual dinner at New England Sinai Hospital, the Sinai Men’s Associates Century Club presented a check for $8,500 to help complete Sinai’s new Alzheimer’s Center Garden project.
The Sinai Adult Day Alzheimer’s Center Garden, complete with a walking loop, offers those suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia a safe and secure outdoor experience, which enhances quality of life, no matter where they are in the progression of their disease. The walking loop allows them to walk freely, which is vital to the well being of those who pace, for example, minimizes frustration and helps work off tension.

Men's Associates Person of the Year Brunch

The Sinai Men's Associates are pleased to announce the 2010 Person of the Year - Steven Robbins. The owner of well known Maxie's Deli in Stoughton, Steve is an avid supporter of the local business community, an honorary life member of the Sinai Men’s Associates, a trustee of the Sinai Foundation, and a member of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce, which recognized his leadership and community commitment by naming him their 2008 Business Person of the Year.
Steve will be honored during a brunch at the Lafayette House in Foxoboro on Sunday, March 7, 2010. Festivities begin at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $45 and may be purchased by calling 781-297-1328 or 781-297-1333.
Sinai Men’s Associates Speaker Series

Pictured at the recent 2009 Sinai Men's Associates Annual Meeting are: Harold Cohen, Esq., Joe Morgan, former Red Sox manager, and "Tiny O'Connor, President of the Sinai Men's Associates. Joe Morgan, the featured speaker at the event, served as Red Sox manager for 3 1/2 years. After being named acting manager in 1988, he led the team to an improbable comeback by winning his first 12 games as manager, to take the American League east by a single game.

Thomas "Tiny" O'Connor, Men's Associates President, with Fox 25 Sports Anchor Butch Stearns, the featured speaker in the Men's Associates Speakers Series on April 28th. On behalf of the Men's Associates, O'Connor presented Stearns with a certificate naming him an Honorary Member.

Sinai Men’s Associates Present $5,000 Check Toward the Hospital’s Capital Campaign

At a recent meeting of the Sinai Men’s Associates, the group’s president Thomas O’Connor of Randolph presented Sinai President and CEO Lester P. Schindel a check for $5,000 representing the first installment toward the Men’s Associates $25,000 pledge to the hospital’s $6-7 million “On the Path to Excellence Capital Campaign. Campaign objectives include the renovation and modernization of patient and visitor areas and the purchase of state-of-the art technology.
Knights of Pithias – Grand Lodge
Support Stepping Up With Sinai

Sinai Men’s Associates Presiden and Knights of Pithias-Grand Lodge (Stoughton) past Deputy Supreme Chancellor and current Grand Vice Chancellor Thomas O’Connor of Randolph (on the right) is pictured presenting a check for $1,000 from the Knights to Bettyann McKenzie, Executive Director, Sinai Foundation and Lester P. Schindel, Sinai President and CEO. The check is in sponsorship of the hospital’s Stepping Up With Sinai Walkathon on October 5, 2008. The walk, presented by the Rotary Community Corps Adult Day Health Program, is held annually with proceeds used to provide scholarships for eligible people who wish to attend Sinai’s Adult Day Health Care Program but do not qualify for insurance coverage and cannot afford to personally pay the program fees. Without this scholarship assistance, these adults would be unable to participate in the program.

Focusing their efforts directly on Sinai patients, the members of the Men's Associates have purchased a wide-range of patient care and rehabilitation equipment including:
- portable x-ray machines
- universal gym equipment for physical therapy
- adult day health chairs
- work cube for outpatient occupational therapy
- specialty bed for dialysis patients
- video equipment for patient education
- In addition, the group has created named funds within the Fund for the Future and Pulmonary Endowments.
The Sinai Men’s Associates recently honored Harold Cohen, Esq., attorney, distinguished community leader and longtime New England Sinai Hospital Board member, for his many contributions to the hospital. |

activities are held throughout the year.

Membership in the Men's Associates is open to anyone wishing to support the hospital. As president, I invite you to become part of our organization. We offer both annual and life membership opportunities. Also many members choose to donate an additional $100 per year to become members of the Men's Associates Century Club. These funds are used annually to finance special projects.
Life Membership - $350 (includes one year Century Club Membership)
Annual Membership - $25
